Léopard de Perse * Persian leopard

Le léopard de Perse (Panthera pardus saxicolor) est une des plus grande panthère. Elle vit au nord de l'Iran, à l'est de la Turquie, dans les montagnes du Caucase, au sud du Turkménistan et certaines régions situées à l'ouest de l'Afghanistan. La plus grande population de léopards persans se trouve en Iran. Ces régions ne sont malheureusement pas de tout repos pour la faune sauvage. Les conflits sont aussi souvent mortels pour eux. La prédation sur le bétail leur est aussi souvent fatale. 

Actuellement des programmes d'élevage sont en cours en Europe dans le but de les réintroduire dans le milieu sauvage. 

The Persian leopard (Panthera pardus saxicolor) is one of the biggest panther. She lives in the North of Iran, east of Turkey, in mountains of the Caucasus, in the South of Turkmenistan and certain regions were situated on the West by Afghanistan. The biggest population of Persian leopards is in Iran. These regions are not easy one for the wildlife. The conflicts are often deadly for them too. The predation on the cattle is also often fatal to them. 
At present, programs of breeding are in progress in Europe with the aim of reintroducing them in the wild environment.
