Le ara hyacinthe (Anodorhynchus hyacinthinus) est le plus grand des psittacidés (envergure jusqu'à 1.50m). Sa couleur cobalt en fait un oiseau très recherché. La réduction de son milieu de vie, des zones nichables, la chasse, le braconnage et le commerce l'ont mis en danger. 

Je dirai que personnellement, comme tous les grands perroquets, ce n'est pas un animal de compagnie. Très bruyant, il tolère également très mal la solitude.

The hyacinth macaw (Anodorhynchus hyacinthinus) is the biggest parrot (scale until 1.50m). His  cobalt color made him a very attractive bird. The reduction of his environment, nests zones, the hunting, the poaching and the trade put him in danger. 

I'll personnaly say that, as all the big parrots, he's not an animal which we have to consider as a pet. Noisy he adapts badly of the neighborhood and he bears rather badly the solitude.
