Cocon * Cocoon #2

These heap I often meet them in summer and I often thought that it was nests and thus heap of eggs. In fact it's the next stage which comes from the hatching of eggs, cocoon of larvas.

Braconidae is hymenopteran, parasites who lay essentially in caterpillars. Eggs hatch and larvas develop in the dead caterpillar. Larvas are then going to build a cocoon to shelter their ultimate transformation. The shape of this cocoon is due to the fact that it is built between the dead caterpillar (which eventually falls) and the vegetable which serves as support.
